    Chapter Relations Team Lead

    The Non-Profit Chapter Supervisor will oversee, support and act as a strategic partner to all component volunteer leaders and members. You will directly supervise 3 employees. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. This position reports to the Director, Membership and Components.

    Responsibilities:

    • Actively oversee the management of Component Relations including management, development and growth of chapters, councils and communities.
    • Supervise Component Liaisons, ensuring that Liaisons are equipped with required tools, resources and training to serve the needs of IFMA components.
    • Create and execute an annual volunteer support plan.
    • Ensure component adherence to National policies and obligations of Chapters as legal entities.
    • Gather ongoing feedback from Components and put forward suggestions for process improvements and resource/tool development.
    • Participate in Component activities, with travel to conferences and meetings as needed.

    Along with the Director, Membership and Components

    • Manage strategic visioning and relationships with all Components.
    • Create and execute the strategy for founding new Components.
    • Oversee the IFMA Awards of Excellence program.
    • Create resources and connections for components to create aligned strategic plans.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree from 4 year College or university and 3 - 5 years related experience.
    • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint), Internet, association management database software, Confex and Webinar platform software.

    Job Summary

    The Greater Houston Chapter of the Community Association Institute (CAI) is seeking candidates for Chapter Executive Director (CED). The CED reports to the CAI Greater Houston Chapter Board of Directors and is responsible for the organization's consistent achievement of its mission and financial objectives.   The Executive Director organizes, directs, supports and coordinates the staff, committees, consultants and vendors, as well as the programs, services, products, resources and activities of the association to assure that the organization’s best efforts are made toward accomplishing the strategic plan and achieving constructive growth for the association.   The CED Works to develop and maintain internal and external relationships and create a positive image for the organization.

    The Community Associations Institute (“CAI”) is the voice for condominium, cooperative and homeowner associations.  CAI is an international, nonprofit 501(c)(6) association created in 1973 to educate and represent America’s residential community associations and related professionals and service providers.  It is a multidisciplinary alliance dedicated to the development of effective community associations. 

    Job Requirements/Qualifications

    • 5+ years’ experience working with non-for-profit organizations
    • Bachelor’s Degree preferred/degree can be substituted for 2 years of professional experience
    • Proven experience in designing strategic planning/conversations with multiple audiences
    • Proven experience in successfully working with volunteers to accomplish organization’s goals
    • Strong background in utilizing technology to improve and grow organizations
    • Strong listening skills and facilitation skills
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
